Quick Update
Friday evening. Sun is going down. Too exhausted to write up the daily posts for yesterday and today. Will try to get them posted tomorrow morning before I start my canoeing. Right now, I’m camping on a sandbar about 8″ above the level of the river. Will literally have a rope connected to the canoe tied to my wrist, so I’ll know if it starts to drift off. Best place I can find. Past two days may have been the hardest of my life. Heat is bad enough. But the river is so low it’s hard to find a spot to pull off w/o sinking up to my knees in mud. I’m just south of Helena, AR. Next stop a week or so in Greenville, MS. Looking forward to that stop. There’s a proper campground there right on the river. With hot showers and everything.
